Hello,

First of all, just wanted to say thanks to all those who wished me happy birthday. I had an excellent day and everything was cool.

My companion Hermana Nova finished her mission and returned to her beautiful country of Guatemala. I learned a lot from her and I truly miss her. Hermana Barrios also went home and miss her as well.

So now president sent me a super cool companion. She is Hermana Amado. She was born in Provo, but lives in Oklahoma. Both her parents were born and raised in Guatemala. Hermana Amado is the sweetest and she's teaching me so much about the work and we work really well together.

It's been raining lots here in Dario and lots of things happening.

This past week we had to travel so much! But it was all worth it because we could see God's tender mercies. The last time there was a baptism here in Dario was in December and we had the privilege to see Edgar's baptism this past Saturday. It was such a crazy week, but we are working really hard to find new people to teach and trying to help all we can. Ciudad Dario is progressing and I am happy to be here.

Hola,

Antes que nada, sólo quería decir gracias a todos por felicitarme en mi cumple. Tuve un día súper lindo y todo tuanis.

Entonces, mi compañera la Hermaa Nova terminó su misión se tuvo que ir de regreso a su lindo país de Guatemala. Aprendí mucho de ella y enserio la extraño mucho. La Hermana Barrios también se fue a su casa e igual la extraño.

Entonces presidente me mandó otra compañera súper tuanis. Ella se llama Hermana Amado. Nació en Provo, pero vive en Oklahoma. Sus padres nacieron y se criaron en Guatemala. La Hermana Amado es muy buena y me está enseñando mucho acerca de la obra y trabajamos muy bien juntas.

Ha estado lloviendo mucho aquí en Darío y están pasando muchas cosas.

¡La semana pasada viajamos mucho! Pero valió la pena porque pudimos ver la gracia de Dios. La última vez que tuvieron un bautismo en Darío fue en diciembre y el sábado tuvimos el privilegio de ver el bautismo de Edgar. Fue una semana loca, pero estamos trabajando mucho para encontrar personas a quien enseñar y tratando de ayudar en todo lo que podemos.Ciudad Darío está progresando y estoy feliz de estar acá.

This last week I have been on my mission for 7 months.

This week I had an experience that affected me a lot. I don't know if you remember that at the beginning of this transfer we had to find a new house. Ok, so in week 1 we went all over Ciudad Dario looking for a house and while doing that we stopped at a yellow house to ask about renting the house. While we were talking with them I had the impression that we needed to contact them, but I didn't do it and we kept walking. The sister that was helping us find a house said, 'that is a good one to contact don't you think sisters?' So I told my companion that we needed to go to that house the next day. But we didn't go. So now, four weeks later we were looking in our binder to see who we should visit and we found the name of a man who was a member, but we didn't know so we decided to go visit him. When we arrived at the house, it was the yellow house and we asked for that man. The one who opened the door said that was his name, but they were looking for his dad who had been a member. When we started talking with the son he said he had an alcohol addiction, but wanted to change, that he had been asking the Lord to send him help or a way to change, but he said that the Lord wasn't listening to him. That is when my heart hurt so much because I realized that it wasn't that Heavenly Father wasn't listening to this man, it was me who wasn't listening to our Heavenly Father. This man went to church with us and we are working with him so that one day he can quit his addiction to help him be a good dad for his baby.

The Spirit is something that we need to listen to the first time. We need to obey the first time, it is so important.

Today for pday we went to some painted rocks and he hiked so much. I thought we were going to a water fall, but nope, we got to the rocks and I'm like 'are we almost there?' and they are like 'this is it.' I'm like what. hahahaha, but it was a good time.

La semana pasada cumplí 7 meses en la misión.

Esta semana tuve una experiencia que me afectó mucho. Entonces al principio del cambio, no sé si se acuerdan que teníamos que buscar una casa nueva. Bueno, en semana 1 estuvimos por toda Ciudad Darío buscando una casa. Paramos en una casa amarilla para preguntar. Cuando estábamos ahí tuve la impresión de contactar a ellos, pero no lo hice y seguimos caminando. La hermana que nos estaba ayudando nos dijo 'esa es una buena casa para contactar, ¿no creen hermanas?' Entonces luego le dije a mi compa que necesitábamos contactar esa casa al siguiente día. Pero nunca fuimos. Entonces ahora en semana 4 estábamos buscando el la carpeta de área para ver a quien debemos visitar. Y encontramos un nombre de un hermano que era bautizado pero no lo conocíamos. Entonces decidimos ir a visitar. Cuando llegamos a la dirección era la casa amarilla y preguntamos por el hermano. El que nos abrió dijo que ese era su nombre pero que fue su papá que fue miembro. Cuando empezamos a hablar con el hermano, él nos dijo que tiene una adicción al alcohol, pero tiene el deseo de cambiar, ha ha estado pidiéndole al Señor que le mande ayudo o una forma de cambiar. Y nos dijo que El no le estaba escuchando. Y ahí me dolió el corazón porque me di cuenta que no era nuestro Padre Celestial que no estaba escuchando a el hermano, era yo la que no estaba escuchando a nuestro Padre Celestial. El hermano nos acompañó a la iglesia y estamos trabajando con él para algún día poder dejar su adicción y ayudarle a ser un buen papá para su bebé.

El Espíritu es algo que necesitamos escuchar la primera vez. Necesitamos obedecer la primera vez, es tan importante.

Hoy fuimos a unas rocas con dibujos y caminamos tanto que yo pensaba que íbamos a una cascada, pero no. Llegamos a las rocas y yo pregunté si ya casi llegábamos y me dijeron esto es. jajajaja, pero la pasamos bien.

¡El sábado pasado me llamaron y dijeron que tenía cambios! Iba a reabrir área en la zona Estelí, Ciudad Darío con la Hermana Nova. Al principio no lo creía. Pensaba que me quedaba en Managua. PERO el siguiente día a las 6:30am estaba en Mayoreo subiendo al bus para Estelí. Era un viaje de dos horas y media, en camino a Estelí pasé mi área. ¡Cuando llegué ahí estaba mi compa Nova esperando para subir a un bus otra vez de regreso hora y media para nuestra área! ENTONCES, mi área queda hora y media de Managua, y hora y media de Estelí y 40 minutos de Matagalpa.

ENTONCES llegamos y los élderes nos enseñaron nuestra casa (chupaso), dónde vive la dueña, dónde estaba el cyber y la iglesia, y se fueron para sus nuevas áreas.

Entonces... yo y hermana Nova fuimos esa noche a nuestro nuevo hogar. Y era súper 'lame' y feo. ¡Los élderes escogieron una casa con murciélagos, que no tenía luz ni en el cuarto de enfrente ni atrás afuera donde estaba el baño y la ducha! (Bueno, paja con agua que supuestamente era la ducha.) El próximo día buscamos otra casa y para el jueves nos cambiamos de casa.

Como estamos abriendo área y es SUPER grande estuvimos conociendo el área y los miembros ¡y los mejores lugares para comprar comida! Encontramos muchos nuevos y muchas personas que están listas para aprender el evangelio. A veces es difícil porque mucha gente no quiere aceptarnos. Pero también hay muchas familias para completar. Los miembros visitaron mucho esta semana. Entonces el domingo pudimos ver el milagro gracias al trabajo de los miembros y nuestro porque investigadores pudieron llegar a la iglesia y la asistencia estaba casi doble de lo normal. Esperamos seguir trabajando para levantar esta rama llena de milagros y personas buenas.

Hoy en pday viajamos para Estelí, y al regreso el bus siempre hace varias paradas que la gente se sube y baja. Nosotras estábamos listas para bajar, y paró el bus, ¡yo pensando que era la parada correcta me empecé a bajar! El bus siguió moviéndose, pero yo seguí bajándome. ¡Sólo escuchaba a mi compa decir ESTA ESTA ESTA y el bus casi se va con mi compa! Pero una hermana le ayudó y la bajó. ¡Después de bajarnos yo vi que esa no era! Y mi compa me dijo que estaba diciendo ¡ESTA NO ESTA NO ES! Y que un hombre en el bus estaba diciéndol que me hable en inglés, ¡tal vez así entiende! jajajajaja. Entonces tuvimos que caminar un rato jajaja.

Saturday they called me to tell me I had transfers! I was going to reopen in the Estelí area, Ciudad Dario with Hermana Nova. At first I didn't believe it. I thought I would stay in Managua. BUT the next day at 6:30am I was at Mayoreo getting on the bus to Estelí.  That was a two and half hour trip and passed my area on the way to Estelí. ¡When I got there my companion Nova was waiting for me to get on another bus back to our area hour and a half away! SO, my area is 1.5 hours from Managua and 1.5 hours from Estelí, and 40 minutes away from Matagalpa.

So we got there and the elders showed us our house, where the landlord lives, where the cyber and church are, and then they left to their areas.

SO... that night Hna Nova and I went to our new home. It was super lame and ugly. The elders chose a house with bats, that didn't have electricity in the front room or the the back where the bathroom and shower were (ok, not really a shower, just a faucet with water). The next day we looked for a new house and on Thursday we moved.

Because we are opening an area and it is HUGE we were getting to know it and the members and the best places to buy food! We found many new people who are ready to learn the gospel. Sometimes it's hard because many don't want to accept us. But there are many families that need to be completed. The members visited a lot this week. So Sunday we saw a miracle thanks to the work members and ours because investigators came to church and we had almost the normal attendance. I hope to keep working to help this branch that has many miracles and good people.

Today for pday we went to Estelí, and on the way back the bus makes a lot of stops where people get on and off. We were ready to get off and the bus stopped, so I thought it was the right stop and started to get off the bus! The bus kept moving, but I kept getting off. I could hear my companion say THIS ONE THIS ONE and the bus almost left with my companion! But a sister helped her get off. After we got off she said she was telling me NOT THIS ONE NOT THIS ONE! and that there was a man on the bus telling her that maybe if she told me in English I would understand! hahahahaha. So we had to walk a while hahahaha.

Helllooo,

This week went by super-slow and really can't remember much again so I will write a few things about Nicaragua or things that happen to me!

1. Here a common drink is oatmeal. Literally, oatmeal is a drink. At first I didn't understand it, but with a good amount of sugar it's very good.

2. There are raspados (shaved ice) very yummy! Really, I think that and the chocobananos are the best!

3. Nicas eat a lot! When they serve food they pile it on! Sometimes it's so much that I think I'm going to die. But the food is really good!

4. This week we were in the news! They were recording a video of some sensor they put on a bridge and we walked by when they were recording, but I don't know if it was on tv!

5. It is still raining a lot!

6. Also this week my companion threw away my razor because she thought it was her last companion's! When I went to shower I was confused trying to remember when I threw it away. Then I asked her if she threw it away and said yes she thought it was her old companion's! hahahaha

7. There are more than 123 mosquitoes in our house.

8. My favorite thing about Nicaragua so far is 100% the people I have met.

Next week I promise stories and more pictures! (Side note: she didn't send any photos this week)

Helllooo,

Esta semana pasó súper despacio y no me acuerdo nada sinceramente. ¡Entonces sólo voy a escribir algunas cosas de Nicaragua que pasa o cosas que me pasan!

1. Aquí una bebida normal es avena. Literalmente avena es una bebida. Al principio no entendía muy bien, pero con una buena cantidad de azúcar es muy rica.

2. ¡Hay unos raspados súper ricos! ¡En serio creo que eso y chocobananos son lo mejor!

3. ¡Aquí los nicas comen su buen! ¡Cuando sirven la comida sirven un montón! Es tanto que a veces pienso que voy a morir. ¡Pero es rica la comida!

4. ¡Esta semana salimos en las noticias! Estaban poniendo un video de un sensor que pusieron en un puente y ahí pasamos cuando estaban grabando, pero no nos pusieron en la tele creo.

5. ¡Sigue lloviendo mucho!

6. ¡También esta semana mi compa tiró a la basura mi afeitadora porque pensó que era de su última compa! Y cuando entré para bañarme estaba tan confundida tratando de acordarme cuándo la tiré. Y luego le pregunté si la tiró y dijo que pensó que era de su última compa! jajajaja

7. Hay más o menos 123 mosquitos en nuestra casa.

8. Mi cosa favorita de Nicaragua hasta ahora es 100% la gente que he conocido.
