5 Months

I'm not counting or anything, but I hit 5 months! hahahaha

Managua is super different, but really interesting and so much fun. We found the best chocobananos (mom's note: I think they are frozen bananas covered in chocolate). Managua is so big and there are so many people in the buses. My first area was like living in Provo and now I'm like living in Los Angeles or something.

A lady we contacted let us know Joseph Smith had baptized her.
This week i learned so much from some investigators and recent converts that had some really good questions. The Book of Mormon is so interesting and it has so many connections to the Bible and it just proves about Joseph Smith, and what he did was only by the guide and help of our Heavenly Father.

Anyway, I am doing so good and my new comp is really good and we are having so much fun.

Honestly I can't really remember much from this week, but oh well!

Cinco meses

No estoy contando ni nada, ¡pero cumplí 5 meses! jajajaja.

Managua es súper diferente, pero realmente interesante y muy divertido. Encontramos los mejores chocobananos (nota de mamá: creo que son bananas congeladas cubiertas de chocolate). Managua es tan grande y hay tantas personas en los autobuses. Mi primer área fue como vivir en Provo y ahora es como vivir en Los Angeles o algo así.

Una señora que contactamos nos dijo que José Smith la había bautizado.
Esta semana aprendí tanto de algunos investigadores y nuevos conversos que tenían muy buenas preguntas. El Libro de Mormón es tan interesante y tiene tantas conexiones con la Biblia, y simplemente comprueba de José Smith y que lo que hizo fue solamente por la guía y ayuda de nuestro Padre Celestial.

Bueno, estoy súper bien y mi nueva compa es muy buena, y nos divertimos mucho.

Honestamente no me acuerdo mucho de esta semana, ¡pero bueno!

This week was super difficult because I had to say by to all the people that I came to love so much. I got transferred out of my first area. MY home. The people I met there feel like I've known them for so long. They took care of me in every way possible. They knew all the foods that made me sick or I didn't like and they wouldn't serve them to me. They would always help me and support us. Always asking if we have enough food, money, rest. Always, always helping me grow. Tezoatega I will never forget and it breaks my heart I have to leave, but I know it's my time.

My new area is Managua, which scares me some because it's super different than the town I was in, but I'm really excited. My new comp is Hermana Barrios (from Guatemala) and she has the same time here as Hermana Martinez (they were together at the MTC) so both are leaving soon.

When I was packing my stuff I almost forgot my Valentina sauce and my comp wasn't going to tell me because she wanted it hahahaha.

This week I was thinking about the sacrifices many of the missionaries make to come on a mission. Some have really hard trials with their families and other things. It makes it real how important it is to be here and the love they have for our Heavenly Father.

It is raining a lot in Chinandega and the road flooded! It was crazy!

I am super excited for this new change.

Esta semana fue súper difícil porque tuve que despedirme de todas las personas que llegué a amar tanto. Me transfirieron de mi primer área. MI hogar. La gente que conocí ahí es como si las hubiese conocido por tanto tiempo. Me cuidaron en todas las maneras posibles. Sabían la comida que me caía mal o que no me gustaba y no me la servían. Siempre me ayudaron y apoyaron. Siempre me preguntaban si tenía suficiente comida, dinero, descanso. Siempre, siempre me ayudaron a crecer. Tozoatega, nunca lo voy a olvidar y me da tristeza tener que irme, pero sé que es mi tiempo.

Mi nueva área es Managua, lo cual me asusta un poco porque es súper diferente al pueblo donde estaba, pero estoy muy emocionada. Mi nueva compañera es Hermana Barrios (de Guatemala) y termina al mismo tiempo que Hermana Martínez (estuvieron juntas en el MTC) asique ambas se van pronto.

Cuando estaba empacando mis cosas casi me olvido mi salsa Valentina y mi compa no me iba a decir porque ella la quería jajajaja.

Esta semana estuve pensando en los sacrificios que muchos misioneros hacen para venir a la misión. Algunos pasan muchas pruebas para venir con su familia y muchas cosas. se ve qué tan importante es estar aquí y el amor que tienen para nuestro Padre Celestial.

¡Está lloviendo un montón en Chinandega y se inundó la calle! ¡Era de locos!

¡Estoy súper animada para esta cambio!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers!!

This week went by somewhat slow. This week we had a real good Monday. My companion and I were super motivated for the week, we set some goals and were pumped. THEN the first couple of days of the week were crap. We weren't finding people and we had so many obstacles, we were just like 'what's happening? we were so motivated.' We're working so hard and we are not even seeing results...anyway, we were somewhat down.
But then the weekend hit and we just started working harder and we started to see some results! And then by Sunday is when we see our work of the week we were really happy! we were able to take lots of investigators to church. Lots of miracles. Because some of those people that went to church, we had so many difficulties with during the week and we thought they wanted nothing to do with the church. But, what I learned and what my zone leader told me last night is that we need to suffer with patience because the Lord is always on our side and everything is going to work out, we just need to do our part.

Also, one of our investigators is LA LEY (think that means the best)! He's so excited to change his life and he even had a dream he was on his mission so he's asking all the questions and he's such a great person. We are so excited for him!

One night I asked Martinez to boil some water for me for my Maruchan ('cause obviously I'm never pouring that again) and she said yeah for sure. So when I got to check on the water there was a pot full of water and it was turned on high, but it wasn't even plugged in! It was there for like a good 5 minutes too. It was funny.

It's raining almost every day and it's been still super hot and humid, but apparently it's winter...I don't know man.

This is the last week of the change so next week I'm not sure if I'll still be here, but whatever happens it'll be good.

¡Feliz día de las madres a todas las madres!

Esta semana fue un poco lenta. Esta semana tuvimos un buen lunes. Mi compañera y yo estábamos súper motivadas para la semana, pusimos metas y estábamos listas. LUEGO, los primeros días no fueron nada buenos. No encontrábamos gente y teníamos muchos obstáculos y nos preguntamos, ¿qué pasa? estábamos tan motivadas. Estamos trabajando fuerte y no estamos viendo resultados...pero bueno, estábamos un poco depre.

Pero luego llegó el fin de semana y comenzamos a trabajar más fuerte ¡y comenzamos a ver resultados! Y para el domingo que es cuando vemos nuestro trabajo durante la semana, ¡estábamos súper felices! Pudimos llevar muchos investigadores a la iglesia. Muchos milagros porque con algunas de esas personas que fueron a la iglesia habíamos tenido muchas dificultades durante la semana y pensamos que no querían saber nada de la iglesia. Pero, lo que aprendí y anoche me dijo mi líder de zona es que tenemos que sufrir con paciencia porque el Señor siempre está de nuestro lado y todo va a estar bien, sólo necesitamos hacer nuestra parte.

También, ¡uno de nuestros investigadores es LA LEY! El está tan emocionado para cambiar su vida y hasta soñó que estaba en su misión por lo que está haciendo muchas preguntas y es una gran persona. ¡Estamos tan contentas por él!

Una noche le pedí a Martínez que pusiera agua a hervir para mi Maruchan (porque obviamente nunca más voy a hacer eso) y ella dijo sí seguro. Entonces cuando fui a revisar el agua había una olla llena de agua y estaba prendido en alto, ¡pero no estaba enchufado! Estuvo asi por como 5 minutos. Fue divertido.

Está lloviendo casi todos los días y sigue muy calurosos y húmedo, pero aparentemente es invierno...no sé.

Esta es la última semana del cambio asique no sé si la próxima semana voy a estar acá, pero no importa lo que pase va a estar bien.

¡Estoy emocionada por esta semana!

Mission Rules

This was a good week; we had the opportunity to work with members. Something happened this week. We had some investigators with whom we had bad communication. An investigator came to hug me and I told him I couldn’t and they left upset. So the next day we went to their home and they were really upset with us saying they didn’t like our religion because I rejected their son. So we had to explain that we have rules! Anyway, everything is good.

I am having a good time. It’s raining season now so it’s been raining the night mostly.

Church was really good yesterday. Fast and testimony meeting is always good to be honest.

Last week we had interviews with President; that was a good time. My interviews are always short because I don’t have any questions and nothing to confess so always pretty short hahahaha.

Anyway, I still love it here and love the Nicas a lot.

Esta fue una Buena semana; tuvimos la oportunidad de trabajar con los miembros. Algo pasó esta semana. Teníamos unos investigadores con los que tuvimos mala comunicación. Un investigador me vino a abrazar y le dije que no podía y se fueron enojados. Y entonces al siguiente día fuimos a su casa y estaban enojados con nosotros, que no les gustaba nuestra religión porque rechacé a su hijo ¡y entonces tuvimos que explicar que teníamos reglas! Ya todo está bien.

La estoy pasando bien. Ahora es época de lluvias por lo que ha estado lloviendo por las noches mayormente.

Ayer las reuniones fueron muy buenas. Para ser honesta, los domingos de ayuno y testimonios siempre son buenos.

La semana pasada tuvimos entrevistas con el Presidente, eso estuvo bien. Mis entrevistas siempre son cortas porque no tengo preguntas ni nada que confesar asique son cortas jajajaja.

Bueno, todavía amo estar aquí y a los nicas los amos mucho.

This week was fast. Jahir was able to get baptized. We had a multi-zone where I saw Pacheco (she dyed her hair black).

We met lots of cool new people, saw lots of miracles and ate lots of food.

Today we had a zone activity and the mission made miracles happen in the month of April.

I know May is going to be a month full of lots of miracles!

Esta semana fue rápida. Jahir se bautizó. Tuvimos una multi-zona donde vi a Pacheco (se pintó pelo de negro).

Conocimos muchas buenas personas, vimos muchos milagros y comimos mucha comida.

Hoy tuvimos una actividad de zona y la misión tuvo muchos milagros en abril.

¡Yo sé que mayo va a ser un mes lleno de muchos milagros!
