Helllooo,

This week went by super-slow and really can't remember much again so I will write a few things about Nicaragua or things that happen to me!

1. Here a common drink is oatmeal. Literally, oatmeal is a drink. At first I didn't understand it, but with a good amount of sugar it's very good.

2. There are raspados (shaved ice) very yummy! Really, I think that and the chocobananos are the best!

3. Nicas eat a lot! When they serve food they pile it on! Sometimes it's so much that I think I'm going to die. But the food is really good!

4. This week we were in the news! They were recording a video of some sensor they put on a bridge and we walked by when they were recording, but I don't know if it was on tv!

5. It is still raining a lot!

6. Also this week my companion threw away my razor because she thought it was her last companion's! When I went to shower I was confused trying to remember when I threw it away. Then I asked her if she threw it away and said yes she thought it was her old companion's! hahahaha

7. There are more than 123 mosquitoes in our house.

8. My favorite thing about Nicaragua so far is 100% the people I have met.

Next week I promise stories and more pictures! (Side note: she didn't send any photos this week)

Helllooo,

Esta semana pasó súper despacio y no me acuerdo nada sinceramente. ¡Entonces sólo voy a escribir algunas cosas de Nicaragua que pasa o cosas que me pasan!

1. Aquí una bebida normal es avena. Literalmente avena es una bebida. Al principio no entendía muy bien, pero con una buena cantidad de azúcar es muy rica.

2. ¡Hay unos raspados súper ricos! ¡En serio creo que eso y chocobananos son lo mejor!

3. ¡Aquí los nicas comen su buen! ¡Cuando sirven la comida sirven un montón! Es tanto que a veces pienso que voy a morir. ¡Pero es rica la comida!

4. ¡Esta semana salimos en las noticias! Estaban poniendo un video de un sensor que pusieron en un puente y ahí pasamos cuando estaban grabando, pero no nos pusieron en la tele creo.

5. ¡Sigue lloviendo mucho!

6. ¡También esta semana mi compa tiró a la basura mi afeitadora porque pensó que era de su última compa! Y cuando entré para bañarme estaba tan confundida tratando de acordarme cuándo la tiré. Y luego le pregunté si la tiró y dijo que pensó que era de su última compa! jajajaja

7. Hay más o menos 123 mosquitos en nuestra casa.

8. Mi cosa favorita de Nicaragua hasta ahora es 100% la gente que he conocido.

Never Stops Raining

Buennooo,

Last week we had interviews with President and that was normal. Nothing new or too exciting. Just reminded me of my last area and how much I miss it.

It rains every day and one day it rained so hard we go socking wet, my scriptures got ruined, but all is better now.

I cut my hair, but it's fine, it will grow out hopefully.

We had the privilege to go see Elder Renlund with both north and south missions and it was really great. He taught us a lot of things and how we can become better missionaries. He also taught a lot about the atonement of Christ and how it makes us whole. It doesn't matter in what situation, the atonement of Christ makes us whole.

This week as always I can't remember very much, but we had rain almost every day, so it's basically impossible for my clothes to ever dry. But it's fine, what else are the fans for.

Had a good amount of chocobananos this week.

Oh, so one night when we were walking home this little girl stopped us and asked us where Hermana Barrios' old companion was. She told us that she goes to church with her mom (we haven't seen her). Anyway, we told her we would come back the next night and then kept walking home. So the next night we went and she wasn't home. And every day after that and we could never find them home. Saturday night we contacted a house with a lady and then after we stopped to talk about it and see where we were going next, and literally out of nowhere that little girl comes up to us and gives us hugs. I don't know where she came from or how she got there because we were nowhere near her house and she was alone, but we finally go to see her. And we were able to put a baptism date goal and know more about her mom. It's just crazy how these things happen. We were praying to find her all week. God works in the smallest but biggest ways. This week I was reading in Alma 24 and truly you can see God works in so many ways (verse 27).

Anyway, changes are almost here and I'm excited to work hard with my companion to find the chosen ones.

Buennooo,

La semana pasada tuvimos entrevistas con el Presidente y fue normal. Nada nuevo o muy emocionante. Sólo me hizo acordar de mi última área y cuanto la extraño.

Llueve todos los días y un día llovió tan fuerte que estábamos empapadas, se arruinaron mis escrituras, pero todo está bien ahora.

Tuvimos el privilegio de ver al Elder Renlund las misiones norte y sur y fue muy bueno. Nos enseñó muchas cosas y como llegar a ser mejores misioneros. También nos enseñó mucho acerca de la expiación de Cristo y cómo nos hace completos. No importa la situación, la expiación de Cristo nos completa.

Esta semana, como siempre, no me acuerdo mucho, pero llovió todos los dias y es básicamente imposible que se seque mi ropa. Pero está bien, si no para qué son los ventiladores.

Esta semana comí una buena cantidad de chocobananos.

Oh, una noche cuando íbamos caminando a casa, esta niña paró y nos preguntó dónde estaba la compañera anterior de la Hermana Barrios. Nos dijo que iba a la iglesia con su mamá (no la hemos visto). Pero bueno, le dijimos que íbamos a volver la siguiente noche y seguimos caminando a casa. Entonces la siguiente noche fuimos a su casa, pero no estaba nadie. Y todas las noches después, pero nunca estaban en casa. El sábado por la noche contactamos una casa con una señora y luego paramos para hablar acerca de dónde íbamos ahora y literalmente de la nada llegó esa niña y nos abrazó. No sé de dónde salió o cómo porque no era nada cerca a su casa y estaba sola, peero finalmente la pudimos ver.Pudimos fijar meta de fecha de bautismo y conocer a su mamá. Es loco como estas cosas pasan. Oramos toda la semana para encontrarla. Dios trabaja en las maneras más pequeñas pero más grandes. Esta semana estaba leyendo Alma 24 y realmente se puede ver como Dios trabaja en tantas maneras (versículo 27).

Pero bueno, los cambios están casi aquí y estoy contenta de trabajar mucho con mi compañera y encontrar los escogidos.

This week, like every week I don't remember what happened... so I will try to remember a good experience and a bad one, and see what else i remember.

Good one: We had the baptism of Rebeca this week. Her son is a new convert and she is helping him to go to church, and she is trying to change her life! After the baptism I asked her how she felt and she said, 'I feel strong!' It is so special to see how people's lives change because of this gospel.

Bad one: every time we go buy chocobananos they are out! So then we have to go to our second choice. Lame. But this will be a good week and I will eat a chocobanano!

There are many people who don't listen to us or want nothing to do with us, this area is harder, but we have many miracles that we see each day!

This week Elder Renlund is coming to speak to both missions (North and South) and it will be a happy time and really good.

Oooh! Also something else that happened this week. In the mornings the water is gone and my comp open the faucet, but because nothing came out I think she forgot to close it. We left the house and then the water came back and it was running for 7 hours and they called us to tell us. And because the drain is plugged, the water came into the house and there were a few inches of water in the house! But nothing got wet because we didn't leave anything on the floor and it is tile so we removed the water fast.

Esta semana, como todas las semanas, no me acuerdo nada que pasó...entonces voy a intendar recordar una experiencia buena, mala y a ver que más me acuerdo.

Buena: Tuvimos el bautismo de Rebeca. Su hijo es recién converso y ella le está ayudando para ir a la iglesia, y ¡ella está luchando mucho para cambiar su vida! Después de su bautismo le pregunté cómo se siente y me dijo '¡Me siento fuerte!' Es tan especial ver como cambian las personas por medio de este evangelio.

Mala: ¡Siempre cuando vamos a comprar chocobananos no hay! Entonces tenemos que ir a nuestra segunda opción. No es lo mismo. ¡Pero esta semana sé que voy a comer chocobanano!

Hay muchas personas que no nos escuchan o quieren saber nada, y esta área es más difícil ¡pero aún tenemos muchos milagros que vemos todos los días!

Esta semana viene el apóstol Renlund para hablar con las dos misiones (Norte y Sur). Va a ser alegre y súper bueno.

¡Oooh! Algo más que pasó esta semana. Como se va el agua en la mañana, mi compa prendió el agua pero como nada salió, creo que se olvidó de apagarlo. Nos fuimos de la casa y cuando el agua vino estuvo cayendo por como 7 horas y nos llaman para decirnos. Como el desague está como tapado el agua entró a nuestra casa y ¡estaba varios centímetros de agua en la casa! Pero nada se mojó porque no dejamos nada en el piso y como el piso es mosaico pudimos sacar el agua rápido.

Pero sí. ¡Que tengan una buena semana! ¡Los quiero!
